Task Centre SMS Outbound extends ProgressCRM's ability to communicate with supporters via SMS text messages to mobile phones and a rapidly increasing number of home telephone systems.
SMS messages can be chosen as one of several preferred methods of contact with a supporter and used to communicate news, request information, send confirmation, or acknowledge a pledge.
Benefits offered by SMS Outbound include:
- A cost effective communications medium. A typical text message costs approx. 10p. Significantly less than alternative methods such as post, and because it can be automated, requires no human intervention.
- Immediacy of contact. Most mobile phone users carry their phone with them at all times. Unless they have taken steps not to receive a call or text, i.e. turning their phone off, a text message will typically be delivered within seconds of despatch.
- Privacy. Reception of a text message is viewed by many people as a personal experience - in some cases even more so than an email
- Audience interest. With volumes of junk email reaching epidemic proportions, email messages received from an unknown source may get ignored or automatically deleted by SPAM filters. Fortunately, mobile text messaging does not get the same bad press and therefore, users are more likely to read all text messages that they receive.
