ProgressCRM's Events module provides the functionality you need to manage registrations and attendance at conferences, seminars, fundraising events and so on. The module helps you define your events, template them for future use, register delegates/attendees, handle special requirements, produce all documentation and record the income generated.

Some benefits of the Events module are:
- Reduced duplication of data. Rather than holding the information on your events in a separate spreadsheet or database, you can record it within Progress and keep only one centralised record of each donor and their behaviour and details.
- Better picture of your donors. By recording the events information in ProgressCRM alongside other transactional information you can build a more complete picture of your donor and all the touch points they have with your organisation.
- Superior reporting and analysis. The Events module allows you to report and query in the same way as the other tabs within ProgressCRM.
- Streamlined administration. Handling the administration of your events is easier with ProgressCRM – you can set up your event details, join delegates, process the income, and produce all the necessary documentation.
The following information describes how the Events module can be used.
Defining and maintaining your events
Once you have decided on the format of your event and have the location, date and other details you need to set it up in ProgressCRM either as a template that can be used as the basis for other events or as a one-off.
Within the administration screen you can record the:
- Event id and description
- Event status
- Start date
- Early booking cut-off date
- Selling prices
- Types of documents required
- Cancellation text
- Badge text
Once your event is set up and you have registered attendees through the Events tab in the main ProgressCRM contact screen, you can use the Administration options in the module to:
- Produce documents for the event
- Batch produce documents
- Produce tickets for the event
The Information screen can be used to see at a glance how your event registration is progressing.
Using the Events tab
The tab will appear with the other ProgressCRM tabs along the bottom of the contact screen. Security rights can be configured to ensure only the relevant personnel can see/edit the tab.
The tab is where users can join the delegate to the event, and view events the contact has attended previously. Any transactions generated when joining the delegate/visitor will be seen in the Finance tab.
Analysis and reporting
Reporting and analysis of events information can be done in several ways:
- Information views – in the Events section of there is an icon called Information. Here you will be able to see up to date information in a number of Information Views that will have been created for you during the project. You can amend these and create your own too.
- Reports – a standard library of events reports will have been created during the project for you. To edit or create your own use R&R Report Writer.
- Query – using the Events category you can define your own queries.
